Hawk Football Celebrates a Successful Season

The 2017 Decatur Central Football Awards Banquet allowed the Hawks to celebrate a successful 10-2 football season that included yet another Mid State Conference Crown.  The awards night also allowed some Hawks to receive individual awards that were given by the media and coaching staff. Highlighting the night was the annual Kyle Thompson Character Award

Four Hawks followed up their successful 2017 football campaign with individual state awards.  Seniors Bryce Jefferson and Tyrone Tracy were named to the Indiana Football Coaches’ Association TOP 50.  This award names both as two of the 50 best football players in the state of Indiana.  Following their lead were Juniors Larry Tracy and Chamaar

Hawks Take Down #1 Roncalli

Kentucky Ave, Decatur Central outscored 5A #1 Roncalli 49-45 on Friday night.  The game featured seven different lead changes with the Hawks scoring last on a Calvin Thomas 29 yard run.  Demontai Franklin capped the night, and Roncalli’s final possession with an interception.  The win snapped a 22 game Roncalli winning streak.
