The Hawks hosted Indianapolis Manual on Thursday night and rolled to a 64-23 win. 9 of the 11 Hawk players scored in the victory. The game started slowly, like many of the Hawk games this season. The Hawks trailed 6-2 after 3 minutes of the game had passed. However once the Hawks awoke, the baskets poured in and the Hawks flew away with this one.
They were lead in scoring by Vanessa Wilson. She was definitely in attach mode from the start, scoring 9 of her 20 points in the first quarter. Kenzee Smith had a very efficient 10 point and Izzy Burr finished with 7 points and 14 rebounds. Lorena Williams was a pleasant surprise in this game. She shot the ball well and scored all 8 of her points in the fourth. Her played left the fans scratching there heads as to why we don’t see her more in games.
The win pushed the Hawks record to 10 wins and 5 losses. The Hawks have some real challenges ahead as they travel to face possible sectional opponent Southport on January 2. Then the Hawks play a conference foe in Martinsville at home on January 4. Come out an support your Lady Hawks.
