The Hawks made a road trip to Guerin Catholic and the trip produced the teams 16th win of the season. The Hawks jumped out to an early first quarter lead (16-8) and never looked back. They exploded for (19) points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to extend the lead.

The Hawks again had balanced scoring, led by Vanessa Wilson (6-10 FG) finishing with 14 points. Vanessa not only led in scoring on this night but has been an instrumental leader in the Hawks success this season. Issy Burr added 12 points and 11 rebounds in 2.5 quarters of play. She continued to be a beast and a strong physical presence for the Hawks. Kenzee Smith added 11, Kenadi Brand 8, and Ajulu Thathu added 7 to go along with 12 rebounds.

The Hawks victory equalled the mark set by the 2007-2008 DCHS Girls team who finished 16-7. The Hawks are one win away from equalling the 17 win total set by the 2009-2010 team coached by David Cupp. The Coach Cupp team, holds the record for wins dating as far back as 1999.

Hawks next opponent will be the Plainfield Quakers on Friday night. It will be Senior Night, Middle School Basketball Recognition Night, Snow Coming, and the Pink Out game. Come out and support all your Hawks teams.
