It was an intense game Wednesday night for the Lady Hawks. They came out strong and eager to continue their winning streak and get their first conference win under their belt. With their power house center-backs, Jasmine Hermosillo and Lorena Williams along with our keeper Bailey Helms, we ended the first half 0-0.

In the second half, Freshman, Jameela Hydre Yusoff sent a perfect cross from the right side to Freshman, Lilly Aguayo who nailed it into the back of the net, scoring her first high school career goal. Junior center-back, Jasmine Hermosillo was in great position to send back an awesome shot up over Perry’s keeper from half field, scoring her first goal of the season. Junior, Madisyn Cannon found her self at the top of the 18 yard box sinking the ball into the right side netting, scoring her first goal of the season.

In the last 10 minutes of the game, the Hawks got a little too eager and had 2 defensive let downs, allowing Perry to get 2 goals. In the last few seconds of the game, Perry launched a free kick to the upper mid goal but it was no match for Senior keeper, Bailey Helms who got a hand on it and knocked it up and over. It was an exciting scene when the buzzer went off and the Lady Hawks got their first conference win and continue their winning streak. The Lady Hawks will be back on the field at Arsenal Tech Monday 8/26 at 5:30pm.
