The Hawks (2-2) lost their first conference game of the season. They got off to a quick start taking a first quarter lead of 14-6. After that the wheels slowly game off, as they could only muster 4 points in the 2nd quarter and 3 points in the 3rd quarter. You would have thought that with the limited scoring in those quarters that the Hawks would have been quickly grounded. That was not the case. The Hawks defense, which has been pretty good this season, continued that trend. The defense kept them in the game and with a little more than 2 minutes remaining, the Hawks only trailed by 1 point. In the end however they just ran out of time and gas.

The Hawks got a stellar performance from super senior Kenzee Smith. Kenzee shot 60% from the field on 6/10 shooting. She was also 3/4 shooting from 3 point land. Kenzee’s overall game was displayed as well, as she grabbed 2 rebound, dished out 2 assists, and had 2 steals.

The Hawks next square off on Saturday against a scrappy Greenwood Christian team.
