For the second season in a row the Hawks fall to the Raiders in overtime. The Hawks trailed most of the game but made a fourth quarter run. The defense allowed them to cut a 7 point deficit in a matter a seconds late in the fourth quarter. They had a chance to win in regulation as Issy Burr stepped to the line for 2 free throws. Unfortunately, she did not convert, but the Hawks still had a chance in overtime to handle their business. They just could not finish the scrappy Ritter team .

In the game Issy Burr was FIRE. She was 7-8 from the field. She lead the Hawks in scoring with 14 and 13 rebounds. Ajulu Thathu contributed 12 point before fouling out in regulation.
Vanessa Wilson and Kenzee Smith both struggled shooting. Vanessa shot 3-14, while Kenzee Smith shot 1-9. All this considered, the real reason behind the defeat was the 2-16 free throw missing (13%). In an interview with Coach Gibbs, he was asked his thoughts on the free throw shooting. Coach Gibbs was quoted as saying “We are much better free -throw shooting team than they showed tonight. Heck we were 17-18 in a county game this season! It was just one of those days.”

The loss moved the Hawks to 9-5. They play Manual High School on the December 27th at home. They hope this game will get them back on the winning track. Come out and support your Hawks.
