We are now officially looking for work. As you read this post please keep in mind that this meet was not scored so we were competing for time, height and distance. Our team continues to show growth and progress in several areas. We are definitely a team that is being led by its seniors and we are very thankful for their leadership. Again tonight Nancy Aguirre took 1st place in the shot put with a throw of 39’3”. I believe that she has saved her best performances for her senior year and it is going to be fun to watch. Freshman Kelsten Galovic showed great promise tonight in the shot put. Keep an eye on her. We are looking forward to watching her grow. Julia Wolhert again took second place tonight in the high jump. We must mention that Julia has twice taken 2nd place while going out on the same height as the winner due to misses on a lower height. So I’m going with two 1st place ties. I feel a win coming from her very soon as she continues to put together a great senior season. Our woman’s 4×400 took 10th with a respectful 4:54. Our woman’s DMR took 8th tonight with a time of 15:56. We are looking forward to filling out other areas of the event roster on the woman’s side as we start to transition to the outdoor season.
On the men’s side Michael Stinson and Mauricio Moreno started the night off by going 16th and 18th in the 3200m. Blayne Harrington and David McFadden again showed that they serious contenders in the 60m dash by going 1st and 2nd. Blayne ran a consistent 7.07 to take the top spot and David ran a PR of 7.16 to claim the 2nd spot. Iowa football commit Tyrone Tracy also made his debut tonight in the men’s 4×200 alongside Blayne, David and Deandre Warren by running a 1:34.68 which was good enough to take 1st place. He will also looks to get into that 60m dash action with Blayne and David. We’re going to need some help from meet directors to get into meets that will allow Tyrone Tracy to join David and Blayne on their quest to go under 7.00 in the 60m dash and compete for an indoor title. Dylan Rennick took 3rd place in the men’s shot put with a throw of 42’5” and Aaron Kluwan took 5th place tonight with a throw of 41’6”. And our men’s DMR took 3rd place tonight to close the meet with a run of 12:04.56. #PROGRESS
