Early Lead For Perry Meridian Seals Fate For Decatur Central Hawks

Decatur Central Hawks fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-2 loss to Perry Meridian on Saturday.

Perry Meridian scored six runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Perry Meridian came thanks to an error on a ball put in play by Genier and Reed, a walk by Morgan, and a sacrifice fly by Arkins.
Joyce got the win for Perry Meridian. He surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out four.
Jared Thompson took the loss for Decatur Central Hawks. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out six.
Nolan Wade, Thompson, Devin Gross, Parker Harrington, Derik Profitt, and Bradley Brehmer each collected one hit to lead Decatur Central Hawks.
