Marion Adams Flooring Athletes of the Month- February 2018
The Decatur Central High School Athletic Department in partnership with corporate sponsor Marion Adams Flooring is happy to recognize the dedication, perseverance, and success of Decatur Central student-athletes. Each month during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years, Decatur Central Athletics awards the “Marion Adams Flooring Athlete of the Month Award.” This award is given to one female and one male student-athlete who have displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous month. Marion Adams Flooring is proud to recognize student-athletes for their athletic achievements each month while supporting the Decatur Central Athletic Department.
The February female “Athlete of the Month” is DCHS Junior Cheerleader Brooklyn Enright. Brooklyn competed for Decatur Central Cheer at the Mid-State Conference Championships and at the Indiana High School Cheer Competition. “Brooklyn is an exemplary role-model and cheerleader. She is the first to volunteer and provide mentorship to her teammates. Brooklyn dedicated 100% of herself to our team. She’s a great asset and it is a pleasure coaching her,” said Head Coach Laurie Hargrove. Brooklyn also serves as a team captain and is an active member of DCHS National Honor Society. She has a 3.96 GPA and is ranked twenty-first in her graduating class.
Jadon Galvin has been selected as the male “Athlete of the Month” for February. Jadon is a two-year varsity wresting letter winner and finished the 2017-18 season 23-5 and the IHSAA Sectional #26 Champion at 132 lbs. He also finished the season with a career-high in takedowns (39) and a team leader in pins (19). “Jadon Galvin has worked hard all year to accomplish his goal of a sectional championship. His work ethic is what helped him achieve his goal,” said Head Coach Aaron Schlueter.
Congratulations Jadon and Brooklyn!
