Multiple Teams · Boys XC Team Races Strong in ’17 Season’s First Half

The Boy’s XC team has been gaining experience, learning and training well to develop serious running skills. With a varsity team that includes five sophomores, they are showing they are determined to establish their roles, and be about the business of racing. Those 5 runners have great examples to follow in the key upperclassmen we have. Lead runner status has belonged to sophomore Jack Sells, who ran a 17:37 in his first ever 5K race and has placed in the top 10 in several races. Senior David McFadden ran strong races in the second team position, getting into the 18’s. The rest of the pack has exchanged positions every race, establishing a very strong pack mentality.  Each runner has set new PR’s almost every week. Junior Corbin Fugate in 19:10, Senior Mauricio Moreno in 19:15, and sophomores Avry Mason in 19:16, Regan Overman in 19:21, and Michael Stinson and Nate Wachnicki just barely over 20:00. Freshmen JV runners Ezra Reid and Camren Dockery are enjoying taking minutes off their PR each week.
