Meet Recap

The ladies finished their second day of the midstate conference tournament. While the singles have struggled in play, the doubles had a strong showing in their second day. All Hawks fell in the first round and played the second round in the back draw. Number one doubles duo Haley Card and Sarah Lopez started the evening strong, but their Mooresville opponents quickly picked up their play and the Hawks fell in straight sets. Number two doubles team Yennie Tran and Taylor O’Dell had the opposite problem. The ladies had a slow start as they dropped their first set 2-6, but rebounded in the second as they took the first 4 games. Greenwood also picked up their play, before the Hawks went on to win the second set 7-5. The match was decided by a super tiebreaker in which the Hawks never let up and won with confidence 10-4.
All other positions are now out of the torunement, but Yennie and Taylor will compete for 4th place tomorrow as they take on Martinsville again.
